HOLLY PRATT – ATTORNEY
Attorney Holly Pratt was admitted to the Virginia bar in 2012 after graduating from the University of Richmond School of Law. She graduated with a business degree from Virginia Tech, where her business law class ignited her path towards her love of helping businesses thrive from the legal perspective.
Shortly after undergrad and getting married, Holly and her husband, Michael, began a decade long journey of owning and operating several Jimmy John’s franchises in the Richmond area. As both young twenty-somethings and the first franchisees to come to Richmond, they had a tough battle ahead of them to build a successful business. Through this experience, Holly learned first-hand the challenges that small business owners face on a daily basis – knowledge which helped propel her through law school while running a business.
During law school Holly served as Articles Director on the Richmond Journal of Global Law and Business, board member of the International Law Students Association, working in the Education Rights Clinic and at the Commonwealth’s Attorney in the City of Fredericksburg, serving on the Client Counseling and Negotiation Board, and placing first in the Client Counseling and Negotiation Competition. As if this wasn’t challenging enough, Holly and Michael had their first child during spring break of her third year of law school. Not only did she return to work two weeks later, but she graduated on time and passed the bar later that year. Now they have three children (and 2 dogs!) and life has not slowed down one bit.
Holly brings this same grit and drive to her law practice, where she helps small business with a variety of matters, including formations, purchases and sales, succession planning, real estate and leasing, and estate planning. She has a passion for helping others succeed in business.
Outside of her work and when not watching her children’s many sports and activities, Holly is a huge Broadway fan. She has seen nearly 30 shows in her lifetime, which is not a surprise given the fact that she danced through college and even did a brief stint in a local acapella women’s barbershop choir between undergrad and law school! She is also a die-hard Yankees fan and doesn’t pass up any opportunities to see a baseball game.
